Hey Blerd Fam, hey! If you didn’t know, Twitch is the platform for everything gaming related and creativity. You can find some of the biggest names in the gaming community there. I wanted to create a spotlight for growing Twitch streamers that I know you will enjoy. 

Today, I want to introduce to you TheeScamily aka Kass (pronouns He/She)! She’s a simmer and loves creating her own Machinimas. His podcasts on his channel are awesome and informational as well. Round 1: 

Give us an introduction to who you are and the in and outs of your broadcast. Share with the class about your Twitch channel and your community. 

Hi, I am TheeScamily or Kass which is a shortened version of my Middle name Kassidy! My main streams consist of a lot of joking with my Scamily Family in chat and having debates about controversial topics such as what was your “struggle Meal” growing up or something fun like that. I also do Premiere nights where I have a viewing of the latest episodes of my Machinima projects! I do dedicated songs for point redemptions and random K-pop dance challenges or play horror so my family can laugh at me as I struggle and scream through it. Honestly, we are all about Joking and having a good time because laughter is my gift! 

Twitch is all about games and creativity. What type of content do you stream on your channel?

I stream Let’s Plays/Machinimas. Machinimas are my work of art and passion projects! I also do Court Cases because My Twitch theme is Court, so for point redemptions Our Family can take each other to court and that’s always a fun time! 

What made you start this journey in streaming and when did you start? 

I started streaming on July 24th but seriously doing it in August! I was a content creator on YouTube but lost motivation for it because of the direction the YouTube platform is going and the things they chose to reprimand but let other things from people who don’t look like me get away with. 

What are some of the issues and challenges that you’ve faced on Twitch and how did you overcome them? 

Honestly, I haven’t really faced many being a newer streamer and most of my interactions with the others of the community have been really good! Developed Natural friendships with My loves MiekohTv, UnicornyKy, KayyBePlaying, and Jevaplays! These women have encouraged me and inspired me to consistently be better. I even started streaming from watching MiekohTv who exposed me to other wonderful streamers such as MsPinky313 and Trzzey! 

What are some of the resources and support that you use, that’s out there for creating a broadcast on Twitch? 

I stream using Streamlabs Obs! It’s a really great app and simple to use. As far as support, I lean on my friends because we all learn from each other! 

Blerd is all things nerd and geek through a people of color culture lens. What makes you a blerd? 

I’ve always proudly indulged in things that most people, especially Black people deem as Nerdy/Geeky or Weird. Such as I’m a huge Star Wars fan and Anime! My favorite Games are RPGs and or Anime Fighting games! Also, I do a lot of reading and Writing in my downtime. Currently working on two writing projects that I release periodically on Wattpad for People to enjoy.

Round 2: 

You’ve only been given 3 games to play for the rest of your life, what are you playing and why? 

DCUO which is one of my favorite RPGMMO games, it constantly gets updated with content so the game stays fresh! The Sims Because this is how I make my Machinima projects and I’d be lost without an outlet/platform for my stories to come alive on! Star Wars Battlefront, I love this franchise so much, and honestly, it’s the closest I’ll ever get to being a Jedi! 

Which video game character is bae? 

I have so many! But I’d have to say my first every game crush was Leon from Resident Evil!

What’s a game that you absolutely hate but everyone else might like?

Minecraft! Minecraft isn’t popular with people in my age range but honestly, it’s such a good game and with all the gameplay mods out there for it, you can quite literally mold and shape the game into whatever you want it to be! 

Your favorite person is making your favorite dish, who is it and what is it? 

My favorite person is Ariana and the dish would be Alfredo pasta but honestly, I’m pushing the food to the side cause I don’t have faith in her cooking abilities! She can just sing me a song while I feed the food to her Dogs. 

If you could be any superhero who would it be and why? 

Zatanna because I love Magic and she’s one of my favorites! Personality-wise, I identify with her a lot she’s just tryna have a good time while saving the world.
