Xbox Series X: Power Your Dreams
Xbox Series X Release Date
The new generation of Xbox is called the Xbox Series X was revealed tonight and will be released holiday 2020. The release was announced tonight during The Game Awards and was shown in the super dope trailer above. I am personally hype for the new Halo releasing along with the new Xbox console. The previous codename was Project Scarlett, but now we know that it will be called Xbox Series X ( I am not sure why Microsoft doesn’t stick with easier naming conventions like Playstation does).
Xbox Series X Hardware
The new console looks like a sleek mix of the Xbox One X and a PC tower. Borrowing from the PS4 and Switch, the next generation of Xbox will have a share button on the controller, since streaming and sharing has become such a bigger part of gaming. This also shows Microsoft’s continued investment in the Mixer platform.

Xbox Series X Specs
Specs are still unconfirmed, but details such as a custom AMD Zen 2 chipset, custom AMD GPU, and NVMe SSD (finally) storage will be standard for the Xbox Series X. Phil Spencer (head of Xbox) stated that the GPU will be twice the power of the Xbox One X.
Xbox is setting the bar high for the next generation of console wars touting “Xbox Series X will be our fastest, most powerful console ever and set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility, allowing you to bring your gaming legacy, thousands of games from three generations and more forward with you.” The Xbox Series X promises to play games at 60 FPS in 4K (and up to 120 frames at 4K, but I will wait and see on that one) and even play games up to 8k resolution. Ray tracing (basically being able to see reflections on surfaces dynamically in game) is also something promised out of the next generation of Xbox.
Xbox Series X Price
Price details are still unconfirmed as well, but we can expect something in the $500 range at launch, as that will be reasonable for the average household for a next gen console.
One of the things weāre most proud of with Xbox Series X is the promise weāre delivering to our fans who have and continue to invest with Xbox. Thanks to backward compatibility, you can expect your gaming legacy, thousands of your favorite games across four generations of gaming, all your Xbox One gaming accessories, and industry-leading services like Xbox Game Pass to be available when you power on your Xbox Series X in Holiday 2020.
